Went to Olympia wolf meeting today
« on: January 17, 2013, 09:03:05 PM »
I went to the wolf meeting in Oly today. Really interesting, learned a lot. Lots of "Evergreen" types were there. They didn't take questions from the floor, at first I was a little disappointed, but it worked out great, they (the antis) had to just sit there and listen to the facts. Mike Jimenez the Rocky Mnt. Wolf coordinator for the USFWS was really good. He told it like it is, he didn't sugar coat anything. Our State guy (Donny M) on the other hand didn't look too comfortable. Typical WA State F&W, doesn't want to upset anyone.
It’s good they took the action they did with the Wedge Pack. After hearing the presentation today I now understand the plan they were following. If it weren’t for the direction the State was getting from the Feds I don’t think the State would have had the courage to take out the Wedge Pack like they did.
According to the Feds the wolf population and expansion is just about to start growing at an exponential rate in Washington.

And there plan is? Sit back and let the apex predator eat all are deer and elk? Did they have anything postive to say?

Had to leave before Q&A?

Gota love it, Carter is all for trans location to the westside, so you to can enjoy the ecological benefits of wolves.

Was this also said over there?
He made this comment in Spokane!!

I didn't him say that. It doesn't sound like they have any plans to relocate wolves to the west side. They said they'd make it here on there own, and probably in pretty short order. They said they'd probably start down by Mnt. Adams and Mnt. St. Helens first and then work their way northward.

Of course they did. :chuckle:
