Fiance's new elk killer! SHE SCORED!!!
« on: September 30, 2008, 03:47:27 PM »
Thanks to Kirby at APS she has a new elk killer.  It's got a Lilja ss barell w/ painkiller, savage ss left handed action (massaged by APS), McMillian stock, tally rings, Leupold 3-9.  It's very light, VERY accurate and almost no recoil...should be an elk killin machine.  We'll find out in a couple of weeks.  It's chambered in 270 and shoots .35 MOA!  What do you guys think?

Saw the write-up Kirby did on it over on LRH... looks great. I can't believe how much better the Savage action looks without the barrel nut. Sweet rifle...

Looks great! Good cal choice and scope choice. I told my Nephew to get a Leupold scope, any Leupold, and he bought a Sightron. My opinion Sightron's are a POS! :dunno:

I HAD to get her a quality rifle....she drew a big bull tag and a buck tag this year!....now she INFORMS me that WHEN she kills her big bull and her big buck, that my mounts have to go into the office so hers can go in the living room.....I told her the first spike to step out, I was going to say "theres a big one shoot it! shoot it! ha ha)

Josh,
This is the second rifle I've had Kirby build for me, and as far as I can see, he is the best, no doubt, undisputed, king of the hill, top dog.  I couldn't be happier with his customer service, his quality or his just plain knowledge.  If you want the best quality and service check APS!

No doubt... he and Shawn both build great stuff. I have a DE break on my .300 RUM... couldn't be happier. One of those guys will be screwing a .338 EDGE pipe on my Sendero one of these days... just gotta shoot the barrel out first.

haven't personally seen shawn's stuff, but from what I've read and seen pics/vid of it looks like top notch stuff too.  I've heard he is really good to work with as well.

Now get her out there and practice!
