Doug just shot this beautiful 23 pound 9 5/16 beard Merriam's hunting with guide Brian, the only flaw, it looks like a coyote got a couple tail feathers out of him this winter. Great bird Doug.

Another bird down this morning. Eric killed a nice mature tom, the first day of his hunt, 8 1/4 beard, congrats, great shot....

Hopefully we'll get his #2 bird on the afternoon hunt, there's 3 more toms working the same general area, we've seen them strutting. Going to eat lunch and get back after them.

Good job Dale, that's the way to put a hurt on the birds!

Mike killed two birds last year and tagged one nice big mature bird early on his hunt this year, but we were struggling to get the #2 bird. It was pouring rain and we got pretty wet, but Mike and I stuck it out this morning and Mike tagged his second bird, a jake, nothing like his first bird by any means, but he was nonetheless a happy hunter. Congrats Mike on another successful turkey season.

Here's a photo of the soaking wet jake this morning.  :chuckle:

I have 3 unguided hunters who were out hunting yesterday and found the mother of all tick nests. Between the 3 of them they had 44 ticks, I hope they found them all!  :yike:
