Packs on our backs we headed in to the last location. I was seeing little drops of blood on the ground and told Mark he wasn't bleeding very bad. Mark said thats because all the blood is up here. I looked up and the leaves and branches that were head level with me were coated with bright red blood. Mark thought it was a good lung shot. We kept going and there he was, laying propped up between a log and a tree. I pulled an arrow and slowly approached.

He was right where the big bull had been seen several times so I'm pretty sure its the same one, we are contemplating going to look for his sheds, they have to be right in the same general area. The pedicles are huge and still bloody. We called Joe and waited for him to get there before we did anything. He said it is most definatly a mature bull and would have been a shooter had we found him with his head gear.

As it turned out it was a good choice to pull out of there and wait till morning. He had gone a ways and bedded down between that tree and log, he died in his bed. If he had enough energy to bed down rather than just fall over, he would have had enough to go farther if pushed.

That is definately a big boy.  I had no idea they dropped their horns this early.  Great story and photos.  Thank you for taking us along with you.

Awesome Story and Congratulations!

Now you gotta get over there and go look for the sheds before they get chewed up.  I'm sure if you took all the people that have replied in this thread in there to look for them you'd be sure to find em'.
