Thats getting it done. I noticed one larger chilled bottle laying out...that must be the "cleaning" bottle.

Good luck and remember if you are using the top part of the neck for surf perch bait cut them off before you dip the clams in hot water to remove the shell

Nice haul!

I was out there this weekend too.  Incredible digging with good weather, a good low tide and very small surf.

Probably dug my heaviest limit ever yesterday, there were holes everywhere and you could be really picky.  13 of 15 had shells over 5 1/4", the other two were right at 5".

It really was great digging, my son (9yo) was really proud of himself (as was I) for digging all of his own clams. On the first day he was really discouraged cause he didn't get any, then the second day he figured it out and went ape $hit on them and the third day he was out of the truck before I had a chance to stop and he was on a mission to get his limit before everyone !!  :chuckle:

Well done, digging your own limit is a big milestone!  I'm trying to get my son (he's four) hooked early too.  He loves being out there, but he's having a tough time digging down far enough with his Fisher Price shovel.   :chuckle:

Agreed, Great Dig. Got some nice ones. Was out surf fishing in the beginning and had a nice 6+ inch dungy walk right up to me in about 3 foot of water, Lightly placed my foot on it and called my lady out to come grab it. Was a nice little addition to the limit of razor clams, on her way back I snagged another one somehow and got it about 5 feet from me, got crashed by a wave as I went after him and he vanished :bash: quick little buggers. No perch for me though. Just dont got the technique down I guess.

I cant do the shovel thing myself. Id destroy most the clams I went after. I just use a clam gun and have a 98% success rate at not breaking shells.
