lings, 'buts, shrimp!
« Reply #15 on: May 01, 2013, 06:27:00 AM »
The cousin and I are heading out right after work tonight for la push and neahbay. We are going to switch it up this year and try to target a lot of our seabass and lingcod on the fly rod. We have done it in the south sound now time to try for some bigger fish in the open water.

Heading out tonight after work to fish for lings out of Everett and catch a mess of sand dabs for bait tomorrow - off work for both Thurs and Fri for the hali opener. Saturday and Sunday is the 'Round Whidbey sailboat race, but my skipper knows that I am not above trying to jig up some lings while we're becalmed...

FISH ON!!

I still haven't caught a ling :bash:.  I guess I need to get gramps boat up and running and just follow a couple members around to fish.

The remote is the main reason I got the Black edition. Plan to put it out from the deck at an angle. That way...when a fish is on...it is just a click away from recording.

Planning on heading out to fish the Westport Jetty on Sunday. If anyone wants to meet up PM me and let me know. Ill be heading that way from Seattle leaving around 5am, plan on spending the day out there until a limit is hit or I lose all my gear. Not as exciting as those with a boat but hey, jetty fishing is a kick in the pants!!!

My shrimpies are pretty darn cheap.  Pots and buoys were hand-me-downs from my dad.  Put puller is borrowed from the old man as well.  Having pots and puller get me a free ride on a friend's boat.  And I get a bonus 80 shrimp with my kid (free) along.  So 160 shrimp cost me a few hours on a Saturday morning, and some bait that I'll grind up the night before.
