flashpoint ignite....... 7 pins... fantastic......also im not really sure what you guys are talking about having 5-7 pins being confusing..... its not.... if someone used the wrong pin thats just  a really dumb mental mistake....... also I like to know 100% where my arrow is hitting, and unless you are shooting well over 320fps.. which very few people do..... having 3 pins one at 20,30 and 70 is careless and a recipe for diaster...... at 50yrds shooting over 300 you will still have drop to where you could not use your 30pin... and again.. 99% of us bowhunters are not shooting those speeds.... more like 270-290...... having 20-80 makes sure when I get my shot I know exactly where my arrow will hit.... not gap shooting and guessing........

I have a flashpoint on my Truth 2, and I love it....other than getting made fun of when it is purple  :chuckle:

Does the darkening cover do a nice job of dimming the fibers in bright sunlight?  That's my biggest beef with a typical wrapped sight, they are just too bright.  I'm leaning heavy towards the flashpoint.

I have only had the pleasure of shooting targets in bright sunlight, but the pins didn't seem too bright for me.  :twocents:

I would agree somewhat with your statement about gap shooting unless you practice religiously.  My hunting buddy used 2 pins for years, a 25 yd and a 50 yd, he's killed more elk and deer than any bow hunter I've known and he's won at least a dozen 3D's over the years, did I mention his bow only shoots a wopping 256 fps.  I myself like 5 pins, but I wouldn't call it careless or a recipe for disaster for everyone that chooses to use 3 pins, only those that don't put in the needed practice.

Thats a 10yrd diff on a animal with a HUGE kill zone.... put the 70 on the heart...... double lung everytime.. thats not impressive nor is it using a 20,30 and 70 pin.... sure some people can with a ton of practice do fine, but to me there is still way to much room for error with only 3 pins..... knowing where to hold your 30 pin on a 50 yrd shot on a animal is way diff then in the backyard.. there are EXCEPTIONS to any rule.... but for the overall argument you cant convince me that 3 is a sound idea for hunting...... the only gap shooting to me thats fine is 35 yrds or 25 or 26 or so on...  for a 35 yrd shot.... thats easy  30 on the heart/lower body  40 on the back.... thats fine you have references in that situation.. but holding high with a 30 pin on a 50 or 60 is just crazy.... when you are focusing in on a animal it may look like you are holding 15 in above the back where you know it will hit but thats such a small margin of error and not worth wounding a animal........

Heck now we have commy hunters.  It can only be this way or that.  I know the guy that coon is talking about and he is by far the best bow hunter I know.  He is the guy that most strive to beat at the 3d shoots.

So what do you think about guys that do it old school and sight down the arrow?  I know a guy that kills a ton of game this way.  You'd probably throw him in jail for having some SKILL and being able to judge yardage and just be able to instinctively shoot.  Same as the hunters shooting traditional.

I prefer my 5 pin hogg it, but that is just me.  I do have respect for hunters that put the time in to know their equipment as well as they do to shoot with more primitive gear.

I have no issues with traditional archers.. they stay wthin thier range and thats fine..... and the guy in question thats good for him... what 3d shoots are we talking about? club 3D's are not exactly bragging places.. the wsaa state is a start, or a IBO 3d.. better yet IBO world 3d... I always love how I make valid points from my POV and people always come back with responses like yours........  again nice try to make it seem like im close minded.. you still wont ever convince me 3 is better then 5 or 7..... aiming with a exact pin with a exact distance will always be better then gap shooting.. period.. I dont care if you do it everyday and are REALLY good at it.. thats my stance..... and that wont change....  and thats great hes a great bowhunter..... doesnt mean I have to agree with his sight preference.. hes very good at what he does... im very good at what I do......

I don't think you need my help making yourself seem closeminded or arrogant.  You're still pretty young.  Hopefully you will grow out of it some day.

arrogant? how about confident? thats more like it, I shoot pins better then most competitive shooters shoot freestyle, and if you dont know what that is.. thats the upper echelon of indoor/field/3d archery.... long stabilizers, counter weights, magnafied scopes, etc etc.. so yes you could say I have reason to be arrogant.. or in my eyes confident because I know what I can do.... also I have been a bowhunter for 13 years now, hunted 3-6 states a year and only not filled all of my deer tags twice... to the tune of around 100 deer so far with a bow, elk, turkey, coyote etc etc.. im not the best bowhunter by far but id say thats a pretty good start considering no one in my family hunted.... so I taught myself.... I also am  pro staff shooter, something I am very proud of.. and I worked very hard for it.... and I did not get that just because of my shooting ability, my integrity, and  person came into play as well, and no one would say im a close minded arrogant person.. I am however very opinionated and do not have a issue speaking my mind on those things.. just like here.. I am curious how it seems to any of you that shooting with 3 pins is better then 5 or 6 or 7 pins..... would you rather aim dead on or gap shoot 15, 20 or 30 yrds? thats my point and I dont see how you could see it any other way.... but if you do thats your opinion and I dont call anyone out on that.........  I do shoot 5-7 days a week all year long and compete 9 months out of the year.. maybe just maybe I might be able to help people.... maybe just maybe I know how to shoot a bow? what proper form is? and how to correctly shoot back tension... things the average archer/hunter do not do or really understand....... remember  when I shoot a indoor tournament with my Pro Elite and my spot hogg 5 pin hunting sight.... I am hitting a target the size of a quarter and 1 or 2 misses out of 30 shots means I lose..... and i dont lose to often.... :)  I can and am more then willing to help anyone and everyone on here and learn what I can from anyone that can teach me something......... but I will always voice my OP... always.. so if that makes me close minded or arrogant...... all I can say is.. get to know me, shoot a round with me, hunt with me...... then form that opinion........

In my opinion you sound more arrogant then confident.  :'( I picked up the bow 22 years ago, it was a bear recurve 55 lb. no sights, I then want to a longbow 70 lb. again no sights. I now shoot a Darton compond bow with 3 sight pin's :yike: O'my god this is wrong "in your very humble opinion". Sounds like you're a good shot. Well I'm a good shot too with my 3 pins. But, you don't know jack s#!t about my shooting ability, I'm just doing it all wrong. Thanks for showing me the way. :chuckle:

I absolutely don't doubt your shooting ability, I for one would be far more impressed by someone that has the ability to utilze primitive gear effectively, in my humble opinion it takes a far superior archer to accomplish that task.  As far as shooting with the "upper echelon" my hunting partner has humbled many of them with a stripped down hunting bow with his 2 pins.  I'm sure you have a lot to offer when you're talking about your personal style but it does appear you are "closed minded" when it comes to the overall sport.
