The ones with collars are easier to find and you don't have to lead them as much.   :chuckle:

I would guess a solid ten, most of those come in the spring and don't really get out to call.  First year in the coyote madness, so I am actually going to try.

5 so far this year. I use a e-caller mostly and hand calls for steering or battery failures. I shoot a 243 or 300wm. Plus I got my 44mag in my lap for those dogs that come in from the unexpected angles

I'm on the wet side and usually shoot between 15-40 per year.  A lot of them on mine and my neighbor's land.  I am fortunate to be surrounded by cattlemen (myself included) and get to utilize cow carcasses to draw them in.  I shoot em' with everything from a bow, shotgun to whatever rifle I have a hankerin for. These local coyotes have become call shy.  When I do call I like my Johnny Stewart PM-4 remote caller.  I set it up at least 100+ yards away from it and use either a bird wing fluttering in the wind on a stick or hanging from a branch or some goofy cat toy that rolls around with a raccoon tail on it.  If we have a problem coyote that is really difficult to get, I tie a live chicken up to a stake and let it squawk.  Of there is a yote in the area he will come in on a string!  My wife laughs when she sees me walking across the pasture dragging a coyote with one hand, a live chicken tucked under my arm and an e-caller in my other hand!  :chuckle:

0.  I've only ever seen one in the wild and that was him running across the road I was driving on.  I couldn't speed up in time

My best year was 19, married, kids & life have slowed it way down. I either use .222,.223 or my .243. I have got them with a my 7 & .338 with messy results. Use mostly hand calls bu carry a ecall as well, vocalizations have worked best for me, I think I've only got  a hand full in over Tue years with distress. Mostly hunt from Feb to march. Try not to t them after ther pupped out. Just have trouble shootin the little guys even knowing what they grow into.
Take'em boys!

Got 2 more this evening about 1/2 hour before dark.  Just happened to look out and see them sneaking across the pasture.  Stopped them with a whistle, dropped one in his tracks at 150 yards and hit the other at a dead run at almost 200.  2 shots, 2 dead yotes = 2 happy cattle owners!  :IBCOOL:

I usually get 1 or more, while hunting for other stuff, I've taken em out with my 270, 22LR, and even called one into my turkey setup and took it out with my shotgun.  I don't spend time specifically hunting yotes but I'd like to get into it.
