Is he confused like some as to why this is not the appropriate thing to do or is he now more open minded as to the resentment this causes.  Because their is a big difference between cowboy boots, taxidermy items and rotting heads on an antenna.  Typically negative info travels a lot faster than positive.  The 10 or so guys that think it's cool are outweighed by the 10 times that amount that get pissed and start righting letters and trying to close the hunting because of it.  This is how a small minority can damage things and effect a negative change for the greater population.  A perfect example of baiting bears and leg traps.  Air the pictures and video that a few thought were cool and the mass voted to end and close it.  Just using an example of a fact.  Another fact as mentioned, was the guy that caught the large octopus last year at Alki. Legal last year, but now closed to harvest for all in that area.   :dunno: :dunno:

There was a statistic that came out of Cornell Hotel school some years ago. It has to do with restaurant service, but is still applicable here. When someone is happy about something, they tell two people. When they're unhappy or dissatisfied with something, they tell 14.

These kinds of displays are at best, completely ignorant. At worst, completely selfish and damaging to the future of hunting. I respectfully suggest that if you don't see that clearly and the potential for our sport to go away as a result, there's a really good possibility that you're probably part of the problem.

That truck wouldnt have even turned a head in Cowiche.

Maybe not, but Cowiche does not represent the diverse opinions in society.

I would go so far as to say it WOULD have turned a head in Cowiche, and someone would have thought this guy is a moron.  If you really believe what you are typing on here, then I would say you have ostrich syndrome.

The public needs POSITIVE exposure to hunting, not some juvenile display like this.

Ill only acknowledge that its unacceptable............and that I cant believe anyone is just now seeing this for the first time.  Duck heads is far less insensative than some of the other things Ive noticed on antennas...........

What about calling 'hunting" a "game or sport"? Isn't that more disrespectful that some duck heads mounted on a vehicle?

Huh? Please explain your thinking on that one.

Just food for thought.. All I know is most of the tree hugging hippie community frown heavily upon us calling hunting  a game or sport

Just out of curiosity, IF it happens that hunting and fishing restrictions are increased, by the "SISSIE" general public, is this still a non issue? Or will those that see this as no big deal NOWADAYS, different many years ago, I understand, see that the past actions of people like this and others could have caused such restrictions? No, probably not. It sucks that people are this way, and we can moan and groan all we want about how "I see it", "its just fine", etc, but IT IS WHAT IT IS. Lets do what we can to give the general public a good idea of hunting. Taxidermy, really, come on. Taxidermy does exactly the opposite of what this person does. It shows respect and admiration for the game harvested.

*This is merely my opinion, no personal attacks on anyone whatsoever. Disagreement at best.

You guys attempting to equalize this duck head/truck antenna shishkabob to taxidermy displayed inside the walls of your private home need to open your eyes.

.02

Seems not too much different than snakeskin cowboy boots or a fur coat.  Both are dead animals on display, in public.  One has been tailored and sewn on to cloth,..........the other is not.      Please explain the big difference between duck heads on a truck and a snake skin on a hat. Please elaborate.

OMG I have an even better idea....what if I fashioned said heads into a stole/boa so instead of ermine or feathers I create a duck head boa...oh this thread is doing fabulous things for my creativity thanks for all the inspiration guys this is great
