Varmint Hunting in Eastern Washington?
« on: January 21, 2014, 09:32:35 AM »
I'm fairly new to the area and am just getting back into hunting.  I have 2 boys taking hunters safety this spring and I want to start getting them out shooting and getting used to how to use a rifle and how to hunt.  I live in the Tri-Cities.  Does anyone know of places that I can take my boys to shoot rabbits this winter, and rockchucks, squirrels, etc in the spring and summer?  Please share if you are willing.  I am not asking anyone to give away their secret favorite hunting spot, but if you know of a place that I can go to get a few shots, or a farmer/rancher/landowner that I can talk to to get access to his property I would greatly appreciate it.  Thanks in advance

Get a BLM map.  It shows all the public land in that area.  Also, a good resource is the Delorme Washington Atlas, that shows all the road names on it.  I don't live there, so I'm not much help, but exploration of the area is good, and the maps give you a start....  :twocents:
If it was easy, everybody would be doing it.

When Bernie Madoff did it, it's called a "Ponzi Scheme"
When Government does it, it's called "Social Security"

Thank you for the help.  I have been looking at maps recently and have narrowed down some areas to try.
If anyone else has any advice or knows a place I can try I would appreciate any help.  Thanks.

Make sure you know what you can and can't legally shoot, as far as rabbits and squirrels. :twocents:
