« on: November 17, 2008, 02:29:10 PM »

does anyone know if i chop up some pumpkin chunks if theyll go after em? id like to get some good pictures on my camera during late season and before the pumpkins go to waste. thanks everyone!

Whitetail love them, you can get as many as you want from Greenbluff, just in time for the bow hunters  :chuckle:
If you shoot the first one you will never get that true trophy.

The whitetail in my neighborhood do the same thing.  So do the moose sometimes.

well other guys have said that mule deer and whitetails love them so i guess i should tell you that the blacktails around our old house would eat them off the porch this time of year. :)

Hope this info helps. In addition to hunting blacktails, I grow pumpkins to sell each year for our small farm along with hay, corn and apples from our orchard. During September, it drives me crazy trying to keep those darned blacktails out of the pumpkins! They destroy them just as they're starting to turn orange  >:(. After Halloween, when the pumpkins have all been sold, I take the leftovers into the woods to use for my trail camera. Guess what.... then, the deer won't go near the pumpkins!  :bash:  Pretty danged funny if you ask me. Also, we have neighbors who have no trouble at all with deer in their pumpkins.  :dunno: Good luck.
