The Mathews Z9 was the long draw version of the z7, it went up to 32" draw length.  It's good quality, and a great bow if it fits and you like it.

I do know that the z7 is a short and compact bow witch I don't shoot well.  I don't necessarily know anything bad about them I'm just not a Mathews shooter.  If I were to shoot a new Mathews it would be that new chill R.  I really like that bow even though its shorter ata than I prefer it shoots nice.  If you got a z7 for free you got a nice bow.

Given to you! wow! Sounds like a heck of a deal to me. A good friend of mine bought a z9 at the same time I bought my z7 extreme. He needed the 32" draw. I'm a 31-31.5" shooter so I could shoot his fairly easily even though it wasn't set up for me the times I did shoot it it seemed to shoot quiet, smooth and was much more forgiving then my z7 extreme. At that time I was very good with my z7 I practiced allot. I need to get back to that. :bash: Both bows are set at 70lbs.

I like my hoyts.  I liked my old high country's to when I shot them for a few years.  Looked them up the other day still making bows.  Kinda want to shoot one.

If it fits you that is a great deal on a nice bow.  I shoot a z7extreme and love it, my guess is the z9 is just as nice with a little bit longer ATA and that 8 3/4" brace height probably real forgiving.  I think you got great deal with all of the accessories you listed. Nice job and have fun.  Post some pics when you get it and tell us how it shoots.

I didn't say it would be easy, I said it would be worth it.
