Couple things folks. Mods. ...can we make this a sticky or top of page topic? Next and above all else. Keep it light...this isn't waterfowl....this is fun. 'Nuff said about that.  Next, keep track of and post your highest pot number of total bugs, throw backs and keepers. Keep posting YOUR biggest. Top three overall length is what we are looking for.

Why? Gotta wait for that. I'll make an announcement soon.

Continue as you were.

Pulled 3 traps today and had a total of about 20.  Lots of small ones but 3 or 4 that were about 6 inches.  And around 10-12 more that were just over 3.5 inches from nose to tail.

Good Morning weekend warriors and mudbug fanatics.

Time for the announcement regarding this years fun and frolic.

Here is what I bring you for post number 10k.

This years awards will be as follows:

1st Place, overall length, Hogcraw Trophy and custom pot donated by Mr. Brad Harsman
2nd Place, overall length, Hogcraw Trophy
3nd Place, overall length, Hogcraw Tropy and a dose of shame for your lack of skill and poor mudbuggn' skllls.

Overall high pot count, keepers and throwbacks, Hogcraw Top Pot Trophy and bragging rights about your sheer numbers of bugs.

I've chatted with Dale and we are currently green lighted for this to happen with no issues regarding legal matters and such being a "contest". I'll be taking care of shipping and hope to have the trophies made and available for viewing and posting at the Hunt Wa BBQ hosted by Joe to some and Fishtiq to most. Elk has agreed to help keep a running total of who is in the running for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, and overall high pot count. I'm working on graphics and layout of trophies and think they are going to come out very cool. The custom pot will be shipped via Brad and the overall 1st place winner will be responsible for PM including name and address. Same goes for the winners of trophies. I'll be sending out USPS and will of course need full info.

So....get your current pot counts posted, your longest overall bug, and get your pots soaking.

H20 out.

What do you guys do to keep your pots from getting stolen? Had three traps stolen this past week and I heard from another member who lost all his traps as well this past week. MC##### suggested using a trot line type of setup. Any other ideas???

On a side note here is my biggest from my first catch ever last weekend. Was just happy to get some at all let alone find this and a few other 7 inchers.

Right on H20, way to step up to the plate and make this cool...  and that last craw is a toad.. that is a pig and with one pincher he is a true warrior.. they loose there pinchers alot of the time from battle and that boy was a warrior you can just tell by looking at that brute....  And to the post of getting pots stollen, its best to use the most camo string you can find, even 50-80 lbs test fishing line will keep it pretty camo, i use parashoot cord and i just had once stolen.. But you know the saying.. "thats just crawdadin.."...   I seen decent pots for $10, so atleast its not like a shrimp or crap pot..  ;)
Their going down!!!

I hit up a local creek the weekend before last around Spokane. Seems like the water is too cold still. This place has been reliable but I only saw claws. Gonna try again this weekend!  8)
