Push-Lawnmower suggestions

Go with a Honda. I love mine. I got the one where the blades disengage but the engine keeps going if you let go of the handles and can bag or mulch with the twist throttle.

Anything with a Honda engine, my 4 stroke Honda is 8 years old and starts with one pull every time.

Bought a new Honda self propelled for 4 bills. Love it. One pull start from the first pull.

Craftsman's have had mine know 15 years 6.75 hp front wheel drive mulching and bagging if that's your thing.  Runs as strong now as the day I brought it home. One pull and starts right up has mowed more acreage then most people would mow with a push mower.

My Honda is an older version of their current HRX series.  I never thought I'd pay $500+ for a lawn mower, but honestly, it'll probably be the last one I ever buy.

Its an outstanding piece of equipment.

You have not mowed a lawn, until you've used a Honda.  If I had to do it over, I would go with one that disengages the blade as described above.  But mine is going on 10 years, and I can't see replacing it.

Get a reel mower with no engine.  It will keep you in shape and you do not have to worry about gas. 

I bet it would cost you 35 dollars.

That's what I have right now....the hills are a b@#$#.......especially after front squats and cleans at crossfit...

I'll do you a favor.  You can come cut mine with a push mower, and I won't charge you a dime.

Draining the gas before off-season storage, cleaning grass off the bottom of the deck, and cleaning the air filter now and then will increase the life of whatever mower you get.

If you can so some basic mechanical work you could score one off CL for next to nothing.


I've seen em with clogged air filters and the owner wondering what's the matter,  scrap it and go get a new one

My experience with the new house (steeper hills) was I hated my push mower so I decided to buy a riding mower to cover double duty for the lawn and plowing my steep gravel drive. Well I never got around to plowing so I sold the rider last week and went back to my self propelled husqvarna. I thought I would regret it but it starts first pull, won't roll me on a steep hill, won't have a bad battery and came with 3 blades. Got mine at country homes in Spokane for just over $300 on sale with a 3 year maintenance package. It also sucks up the pine needles like crazy.
