USDA's OIG is buying Sub Machine Guns

Looks like they're taking a page out of the BLM books and turning their enforcement office into a paramilitary organization to abuse and intimidate the American people, and more specifically our food producers and organic / non-gmo / activists.

USDA also includes the Forest Service.  Maybe they are destined for rangers combatting the Mexican drug cartel's illegal grows in the US.   :dunno:  I hope they aren't for more of the excessive force like that used on small organics (a dairy farm comes to mind).

Please tell me how BLM is paramilitary?

I've seen county deputies and WDFW Officers wear more militaristic looking gear in the past two years then what I seee with BLM..

Each federal department has an Office of Inspector General (OIG). OIG's are essentially the big internal affairs for not just an agency, but the entire cabinet department. As an example, there is no OIG for BLM, but rather the Department of Interior which oversees BLM, Park Service, etc.

OIG's are the office that looks into fraud, theft, crimes occuring between employees, and so on. The bad govt employee stealing money, drugs, firearms from evidence would be investigated by the OIG. Directors stealing money from funds would be investigated by the OIG.

OIG doesn't usually conduct enforcement activities with the general public. They are an internal watch dog. IIRC most departments have them. So the DHS OIG would investigate corrupt customs and immigration officials, whereas the Treasury IG would investigate bad IRS tax collectors. Here's to hoping those "sub machine guns" are soon pointed in the face of Louis Lerner.  :tung:
