Hello!
« on: May 19, 2014, 05:54:44 PM »
 :hello:
i apologize for my manners about my previous post i forgot to introduce myself. i am looking into hunting with a muzzie this year( deer ) i have been reading for about a month now about how to BP hunt, i just have one problem before i go try this out...i feel safer if i was actually showed what to do then read about it. i currently live in island county and would seriously love to learn how to properly use a BP rifle. i had bought one 2 years ago on the reasoning that a friend would show me how, but he upped and left. but i would like to shown how to properly handle one due to the fact im very saftey concious.

Thanks!

:) if you can shoot a cartridge  rifle   you on your way .  not knowing what the caliber or type of muzzle loader your going to be using
i cant give you to much help yet  but here is a good starter
1. pour some powder in to the measure,  then pour the measure  depending of the recommended powder charge
2. take a patch and ball if that's what your going to use, then cover the end of the barrel with the patch then  center the patch and   ball on the barrel
3. push the patched  ball down the barrel  using the short ball starter then us the ramrod to seat the patch and ball on top of the powder.  bring the ram rod up about 6 inches and let it bounce on the ball to be sure it is seated all the way .
4. next take a cap  but it on the nipple   aim at your target  and have fun . next it will be up to you to make any adjustments to the sights and so forth but work up the powder load  to a good solid  crack from the barrel
no need to kill your shoulder ether   just go slow and work at it read up on it and you should do just fine  feel free to ask any questions you might have

If you get near North Bend, we could get in some range time.

I have 2 Knights and a Remington
