I think I recognize open country when I see it.   Nicely done.

Very nice! Some day I want to get one of those muleys black powder style though I don't know where to start. Many many years ago I took a modest muley near Inchelium and Gifford during modern fire arm season. Always dreamed of doing it again. At any rate that is a nice looking buck Sagewalker. Congratulations!

Went out Sunday morning, say for a little over an hour and glassed over five or six different bucks and a ton of does. The deer started moving out looking for a bed, we had spotted this buck and another go into a little draw and lay down with several does. We put a stalk on him but ended up coming too high above him, we backed out and regrouped. We were 200 yds out, we had great wind and both the bucks were sleeping. So we started belly crawling a little bit at a time, we were in no hurry since the wind was in our favor. We stopped several times on the belly crawl, ended up at 130 yds out and almost decided to stand him up and take a shot. We talked for a minute and decided to try and get closer even know we were running out of cover. Both the bucks were still sleeping, we inched closer and closer. My friend ranged him at 105 and I decided to sit up with the bipod out and get a good rest. He turned the video camera on and stood the deer up and I let out a shot. The deer dropped back I'm his bed and the rest is history. It was one of the best hunts I have been on. Everything worked out so well to make that stalk work out like it did. I have a great hunting partner and friend as well. We make a pretty good team! Thanks for reading!
