Out of Safford, AZ we found an old indian village.  Still had pottery in the old clay ovens.  Wish I had carried a camera back then.  Have always wanted to go back, but not sure I could find it again now.

Literally hundreds of old indian arrow heads on the high plateau in Oregon. You can still hunt deer and antelope from the old indian blinds scattered around.  Crazy that all these years later the animals still travel the same routes they did when the natives roamed that territory.  I actually walk up on a buck antelope that was sleeping in one of the blinds.  Not sure who was more startled...him or me!  Some of those old blinds still have the old fire pits exposed with piles of obsidian around them.  Historian in town said they would knap their arrows heads right there in the blinds and shoot animals at night that would come close to see the fire.
He asked, Do you ever give a short simple answer?  I replied, "Nope."

My Great Grandfather found a Model 99 .303 Savage with octagon barrel leaning against a tree in the mid 1950s and gave to my dad for his first deer rifle.  It blew up on my dad while shooting at a deer when he was in his teens and in 1989 I had it rebuilt by a Master Gunsmith.  Turned out pretty nice.  I too have found some preety cool memorials of hunters past.

A living mason jar. After further review...it was a very small kitten in the middle of nowhere with it's head stuck inside of it. I held the kitten while my Grandfather pulled the jar off. The little guy was so happy he followed me home.

Was that in the Capitol Forest?  My grandmother used to tell a story of times being so bad during and just after the war they resorted to poaching for meat.  Story goes my grandfather had shot a small deer about 100 yards from the road and before he could return to get his gun they saw someone coming up the road.  So they took off and took the deer home.  They spent days trying to find the spot again and never could.  They had to borrow money and even cooked bricks in their kitchen oven to afford the gasoline to go up and look for the gun.  Finally they just had to give up and grandpa's 303 was lost forever.

That is a neat bit of history and if it was the same gun, that's wild.

Found a pair of Oakley's in a case with 4 extra lens( in different colors) spare nose pieces and ear pieces. Found a 37" toyo 5-6 miles from the nearest road. A lot of arrows, some sheds, a Llama  running wild up in Cowiche, a parted out F350 in the bottom of a draw a mile(ish) from a road.

Wasn't hunting, but backpacking with the family several years ago in MT. My son and daughter were wading in shallows of a mountain lake and my daughter says, "dad look its a turtle" she picked it up and brought it over to me. It was an Urn floating in the water. She asked what an urn was. She couldn't get out of the water fast enough.
I've heard of spreading ashes, but never thought someone would leave the vessel

I found 3 $20 bills folded in the middle of a trail.  In Packwood I found a stack of 10 porno dvds sitting on a log.  Last year I found a iphone and it was still working.  Somebody called and I returned it to the old timer.  When I returned it, his buddies said he would lose his phone every year, but this is the first time it was ever returned.

A buddy in Alaska was out on a boat hunt for deer in Prince William Sound and found a 150 lb sea turtle up in the rocks on Montague Island. He rescued it and turned it over to NMFS. Not sure what they did with it.

Just found the story and it appears it was sent to San Diego.

I found the same items as I did last year.  A couple dozen rigs and a bunch of people.  They were to bad to find this time of year as they all looked like a bunch of pumpkins.
Cut em!
It's not the shells!  It's the shooter!

I found a wild pig on the peninsula while bear hunting and a live Emu in the CF while deer hunting.
Lots of weirdos walking out of the woods on logging roads at the crack of dawn.
