Jim Burnsworth shot another pet Elk
« on: December 19, 2008, 08:34:11 PM »
Just got done watching Western "Extremes".  What a joke.  This guy is pathetic.  They show him walking around in the sage brush right up to an elk and sticking it with an arrow.  The elk takes the arrow in the lungs and "walks" off.  Like it was trained to do so.

He shot a "small" one for the ranch.  His pocket book must bet gettin a little light.

I tune in to watch that idiot wander a pen and shoot the equivelancy of a angus cow with antlers.

Jim,

If you read this thread and I hope you do.  You are so far from a sportsman and hunter its ridiculous.

I was wondering when someone would bring this up. I got pretty excited when I first caught his show a year or two ago on the Outdoor Channel. I thought, now this is cool, a guy from the Northwest hunting in the Northwest. I was disappointed when I caught the end of an episode where he had shot a ranch bull. I'm sure the guy is an accomplished hunter, but, in my opinion, this just makes him another one of the many who have sold out to the numb-minded, wanna-be hunters who drool over this stuff on the Outdoor Channel. I always question if guys like this really love the hunt and the experience, or if they are just interested in boosting their ego and their pocketbook. He might as well be shooting whitetails in Texas over an electronic feeder as far as I am concerned. I won't watch his show anymore. I could go on and on about shows like this, but I will hold off because I think Jim has a teen-age son who might see this site. For all I know, the Jim could be a great guy, but I won't support or watch this kind of show anymore. I would much rather spend my time looking at Bone Addict's or others great photo displays of wild Washington bucks any day.

Not sure where he came from.  Come to think of it, I have not seen Northwest Hunter on for a while.

I saw that episode where he shot that ranch bull.  Again, walked up to it and shot it.  It looked like it was drugged.  The bull stood up, he put and arrow right through the lungs.  The dang thing just looked at him, slowly spun around, and he put another one through the other side.  The animal didn't even flinch.

he filmed and shot a bull with the outfitter in idaho I used, I hunted the same ridge he shot his bull on, after he shot his a bigger bull came in behind it and he made the camera shut off, didnt want anyone to see the bigger bull he did not shoot, also I called him as a reference for the outfitter, and he told me he called it in etc.. not the case at all, needless to say the outfitter was pissed when I told him what jim said and said he wont be on the reference list anymore.. the guy is a tool from what I have seen/heard.. must be nice to be rich....

First of all I can't believe anyone still watches that "High fence" hunting show. He has claimed to have killed hundreds of elk. Not hard to do when they are in an enclosure and drugged. I've written to the sponsers of the show to voice my opinion. I still can't believe that Hoyt still sponsers that crap.

That show sucks. I can't remember the last time they've been in the states much less the NW. I used to TIVO it hoping they'd be in WA again but they're too busy shooting Zebras and stuff like that.

About this thread, I have no idea who the guy is. I'm gonna TIVO it just to see.

i agree with all that. they make it seem like its real tuff to hunt " high fence" animals.give me a break. do it like all of us do and hunt hard and try your damndest to kill something. from my experience its alot more rewarding when you kill something.

I always thought he was sort of a wierd guy. He acted like he had just shot a world record EVERY time he shot something. Didn't know that he was hunting on a high fence place, but I don't watch his show much. As a matter of fact, since I have been on this site I hardly ever watch the outdoor channel anymore :tung:.

pretty sure this show is called western extremes and not northwest hunter, although n.w. hunter hunted as many high fenced ranches as western extremes guy. the one i'll never forget was when  he shot the high fenced bison with a .50 cal. about made me puke as a hunter.
