sitka bivy 45 pack?
« on: January 09, 2015, 03:08:09 PM »
Checked this pack out today at sportsmans warehouse. Seems pretty cool and like it could work well for a backcountry style hunt. Anyone have it or tried it out? In the market to do some upgrading so trying to get as much info as I can before making purchases.

Thanks

Zack

I don't have any experience with the Sitka packs, but from a lot of reading and geeking out research that  I've done, you can do a lot better for similar money by getting into a Kuiu Icon Pro or a EXO Mountain Gear pack.

X2 what jackelope said. I have an EXO and it's awesome, also have a sitka flash 20 and would take my EXO any day of the week.

Thanks for the info so far. I do like the looks of the exo packs, it just makes me nervous dropping that amount of cash on something without playin around with it and seeing how it fits me. Is there anywhere I can look at these bags in person?

Pretty sure you can return it if you don't like it or you can sell it on the interwebs with probably zero issue.

I used to have a Bivy 45 years ago. They are very comfortable, until you have to carry any load over 40 lbs. You're MUCH better off getting an Icon pro or an Exo.

If you're in the market in the next month or so, I'll probably be selling a brand new Icon Pro 1850/7200 pack set.

I bought it 2014 season . Took it out hunting 2 times sold it and bought a kuiu icon pro for 50$ cheaper than the sitka and it is by far best pack I've ever owned . Sitka in my opinion should Stick to gear 😉
be careful going in search of adventure its ridiculously easy to find.

The problem with the Sitka packs IMO is lightweight/non durable material, insufficient straps/pads, no functional load lifters, and a poor frame.

I'd rather do 120lbs in a kifaru/MR/Kuiu Icon pro than 50lbs in a Sitka  :twocents:
