Twisp Cougar killed on the way to bus stop
« on: January 28, 2015, 08:51:05 AM »
My buddy asked me to post for him.  :)

Grandkids were on the way to the Bus stop this morning when they saw this nice big tom cougar crossing the road. Shelby ran back and got a gun then ran down and Cody shot it. My cows are right in the middle of calving and this is only a quarter mile from them. Last year one of these killed a calf and we ended up killing four cougar right here around the cows. Plus one yesterday all total five in less 11 months.

4 years old 120 lbs Tom Cougar. Not bad for Bus Stop.

We would love to just chase them off with the dogs but the Law wont allow that so we are forced to kill every one we see to prevent livestock losses.

 :hunter:

Looks like a pretty nice cat.  Hell of a trophy for the youngster.  Congrats to the young hunter!

phssssssst, like the wolves, the dept. don't think there is a problem anywhere with cats!! :yike:

That is great. Way to go kids. It is to bad in this day and age if they post that story on a social media site the parents would get ridiculed for the kids having access to a useful tool =gun.

Cougar seem to be attracted to bus stops,  I used to drive truck and seen a lot of cougar not far from bus stops.  I think all the kids' chatter pique's their curiosity.

Beautiful cat and photo.  You should always hug a cat now and then. Keep your family in cougar tags and you are fine.  Run out let me know I have one! :chuckle:
