Summer camp!

Just got back from a whirl wind trip out to summer camp to drop off my adult brit, and watch my puppy run.  I was a little disappointed in my puppys bird work so far, but I have to remember she isn't even 13 months old yet.  With that in mind, I was very happy with her progress.  She runs pretty damn well and she can find the birds!  Shes still having funny chasing them, but thats where I have to remember shes barely a year old.  When she hits the ground, it's all business.  She doesn't care about other dogs, she wont race them, and she could care less about crap birds or butterflys and other distractions.  I was VERY happy with her ability to stay with the running birds, and they couldn't lose her.  With a little more exposure she should be able to pin them with ease.  There is no replacement for training on wild birds, and I'm fortunate enough to have a trainer that trains on wild birds almost exclusively....  If you guys ever get a chance to send your dogs out to camp, it's money well spent.  Here's a couple videos!

My Brit showing she hasnt lost it after 4 months on the couch.  She was down less than 5 minutes before she had her first find.  15 minutes later we picked her up after her 3rd find.  Time to put her back in the prairies and make her work for her birds so it's a little harder on her.
