Elk decoys - helpful when hunting alone?

Just watched the video on his website about mounting it. Im thinking that even if I have to stalk an elk with my muzzy pointed up I could make it work. And at the last min point and aim. By that time the elk wont know what hit him. Now trying to reload with it attached to the ram rod could be an issue. Perhaps once I get it I can come up with something that will make it attach and detach pretty easily so I can still use the ramrod

They work on mule deer. I was on a ridge last year and heard something coming up the trail. I deployed my elk decoy and three mule deer buck walked into plain sight , there was nothing between us. They stomped and pranced around trying to figure me out. I drew my bow back twice and let it down, no tag. I ranged them and they were 43 yds.

I finally got up and started towards them to see how close I could get. They took off. I could have easily shot any of the three several times.

What the heck, I've been spending money like wildfire on hunting gear lately so I ordered one too.  Looks to be a good concept.

Old floppy has worked her but off for ten yrs. I have the montana elk decoy that looks head on. I broke one ear so I didn't look like a alert cow looking ahead. And use it set up behind me and just the head all folded up. Put two nice bulls down and a hand full of cows due to old floppy.

I've never been much of a decoy guy because hate packing the things, that is until I came across the Poison Gear Decoy, it's lightweight & you don't even know its on your bow. Definitely consider one of them.
