Wow....so I just got some more info that hugely impacts my decision. So I am keeping my permit. So if you mail it in today you are guarenteed your points back but if you keep your permit and they don't open it you will still get your points back at the end of the season. But if they open it for even 1 day you lose your points.
Good luck man.

So what your saying is if you  mail it your not guaranteed your pts back kind of a contradicitve statement

No.....what I am saying is if you mail it postmarked by today you are guaranteed your points back, if you keep it like I did they are gonna open the wilderness on or about the 15th and I am gonna have the entire West Wenaha to myself full of rutting bulls!  :chuckle:  And if they end up not opening it by the 24th I will get my points back as well. But even if they open it on the last day of the hunt I will lose my points.

I archery hunted deer in Dayton this past week. I talked to a few fireman staying at the hotel. They seemed to think it would likely not open until after a good snow fall or two. They were brought in from Arizona to help fight the fire. Looked horrible from a distance.

It is a gamble that they'll open it up,  but IMHO with points creep it's a bigger gamble that a guy would ever draw again.

It's sounding like they may open it in a week and I will be the only one in there.

What makes you feel it will be open in a week? Did you hear that? Or hoping that?

That is second hand info so take it as you want, it gives me a glimmer of hope but I would rather hope for that than give up on them opening it. The guy I talked to know a couple guys involved with the fire.

I turned my in and went a took my frustrations out on a 4X4 muley. That poor sucker didnt have a chance standing at 50 yards looking at me at full draw. HAHA
