First off, I am new to this forum and have really enjoyed the stories and tips that many of you have shared of late.
I really enjoy blacktail hunting and find the greatest reward being in the woods with dad and my two young boys. I have started to become more of an avid hunter the last few years mostly because of decreased opportunity to fish for salmon and steelhead, although I have hunted for 15-20 years.
So, dad and I hunted pretty hard for 4 or 5 days during the regular season. The area has a mixed terrain with timber, newer clear cuts, and thicker dog hair with pockets you can see into. There seems to be activity, rubs, tracks, but the problem is we only saw a few does and no bucks. My question is should we continue to hunt this area when extended buck opens in hopes that bucks may be more active or moved into the area searching for does?
