More elk sheds.
« on: April 05, 2007, 08:13:56 PM »
I don't get to go as often as I want, but the times I've gone have been great.  I love spring.  Love to see the snow melt away and the grass grow green.  The elk antlers are main reason I'm out there, though.

I'm pretty sure I found an antler from the same bull in the spring of 2003.

One antler shed last year.  Finally found it this year.

Here's my pack ready for the trip out.

Just kiddin ya.  Awesome.  I'm glad you found some nice bone!  Are you in my neck of the woods. ;).  I was hoping that those were your boot tracks.  I've got a ton of pics coming.  Lots of bone to go around this year.  I've never seen so many bulls.

They must shed the left side and eat the right side because thats mostly what I found.  I went a little further than I usually do and I was sure glad I did, but then the trip back sure stunk.  I'll try to get some atls up for you all sometime this weekend.

You're %100 right Miles.  I should say the pain stunk.  Thankfully I'm a big guy, but that was a ton of bone, and my knees and feet were killing me.  I'm still trying to recover.  As I posted elsewhere, this is the most bull elk I have ever seen.  MANY survived the season last year.
