MOJO Critter Squeaks - Thought I'd Pass Along the Fix
« on: January 04, 2016, 11:37:01 AM »
I've had my Critter a couple years and yesterday in light snow, after my first set, I noticed squeaking coming from the shaft area. I didn't use it the rest of the day and it still squeaked when I got home. I turned it on this morning and it was fine; must be moisture induced.

I contacted MOJO and they said put a light drop of oil on it?

I removed the shaft adapter and on the bottom was a half moon rub mark. I took a file to the bottom of the adapter and evened things up and took a little more material, reassembled and now there is a visible gap between the adapter and metal base. I'm betting that will cure the problem.

NOTE: Be careful when assembling. I stripped the adapter threads when tightening. I threw on some loctite and I think it will be fine.

Creating the gap between the adapter and metal base was the needed fix.

Out for a couple hours this afternoon and it ran quiet.
