Anyone running a prowler 700 xt?
« on: August 02, 2016, 07:36:40 PM »
I am looking at side by sides and looking at the prowler line up pretty hard. I DONT LIKE there 6 month warranty deal but seem like nice machines. Also looking at a few others. If you have one you just love feel free to throw a name up. I have been die hard Polaris but there customer service sucks. So looking to other brands.

If you have a 700 let me know what ya think. or even the 550 xt etc.

My stepdad dumped a prowler and bought a Polaris.  I don't know the details but I know he likes the Polaris a lot more than that Prowler. Fwiw it was a smaller, more inexpensive prowler. He stepped up when he bought the Polaris. I think he bought 3 Polaris rigs all at the same time.

I have a polaris ranger sxs and it's literally changed the way I work around my acreage. I've yet to employ it hunting as most spots I go they are not allowed, but hands down the thing is powerful, sturdy and the suspension is amazing! I bought the roof and plastic windshield and love it, oh also one of the polaris winches and the thing is damn powerful.

Carp why did you decide to go side-by-side and abandoned your samurai  you had?

Kawasaki teryx 800.  That's a great one.  I have one.  Utility and play.  36 month warranty and best price of any of them.  Service good.  Best built reliable one out there.  This thing is as tuff as they get.  And I can wheel with the best.  Razor 1000xp, artic cat wildcat limited x and maverick 1000's.  Heck I climb better than some.  Not fastest but torque to spare.  Real diff. locks and roomy.  Best bang for buck.  Trust me.  Come ride with us and you can see!  If you want pure sport the Razor is best but dealers are backed up 6 months on recalls of em.  Service and reliability not the best for Polaris.

I still love my samurai but I am going to sell it. I have found that I end up packing my 2 four wheelers a lot more then my samurai. A lot of the places like Idaho my samurai is not allowed and I can use a side by side. I go back and fourth but it's great for the couple weeks hunting on the ranches here and etc.

I do think I would get more use from a side by side and have plenty of rigs to go to town with.

My friends use them alot in their work. They have a Polaris 700 and a mule. Both have been good machines.

I just threw down and got a Honda Pioneer Eps 5 1000. It rides and handles amazing compared to the mule or ranger. Huge difference. Hopefully, it will have Honda reliability

I was checking them out.  Looks like a good machine.  A real transmission is nice and versatile.  Honda quads I used to own were ultra reliable.  You will be impressed with the trail, climbing etc of these things.  Sidehills is their weakness.  EPS is soooo nice too!  Windshield and top are a must have in winter...

I ordered a flip up windshield. I'm thinking in a diamond plate roof so I can put a safari rack on top

It may take me a little longer to get to the top of the hill.  But I Will get to the top. We use the Kubota RTV side by side.  Its diesel engine will get you anywhere..I was a little skeptical when we got the one with the cab but wow is the A/C nice in the summer, and the heater in the winter is second to none.  Our clients love it...

Accessories are so expensive.  I made a vinyl soft top for mine.  About 45$.  I have ruined it some in the trees.  Oops!  What I like with the Honda and Kawa is the tube steel chassis around whole body vs plastic crap panels on the Po Po's and others.  I rub rocks and trees safely while they all get broke.  Dump beds are great too.  I put a 2" highlifter lit on.  Brackets for shocks. Bigger tires and ground clearance which helped a ton.  13-14" seems to be magic # for clearance when wheeling at this wheelbase.  I think street legal mods are next for me but local police seem to leave us all alone around here.
