Can either of you break down your 175 number?  We are talking about the bull Forks posted?

I believe rereading birdblasters post him and I were referring to the 5 in his picture.

Yes, I was referring to the bull I posted.   I'm just trying to help with accurate numbers of bull that were actually scored.  I don't want people to think they shot a 300" bull, get it scored, and then find out its only 250".  That's all.

For quick reference, the 175" 5 point that I posted has 8 scorable tines that are roughtly 9" each (excluding the 1 point kicker), main beam length of 31", 6 scorable girth measurements at 5" each, and an inside main spread of 24".  Add all those up (9+8+8+7+9+8+8+7+5+5+4+5+5+4+31+31+24) = 178"

Ummm...you forgot tip to tip score and widest part outide spread. 178 + 60 or more inches you missed

Only spread measurement included in score is inside. ;)

I suspect the measurements you are referring to is why many mule deer hunters seem to always be claiming their 160 class bucks are 180" :dunno:

And you get 4 mass measurements per side also. Even on a five point.

And that goes for pope and young also. Sci drops one width but scores all totals.

So I guess that's why my wife thinks I know everything.

That bull forks posted is a giant....5 inches of mass ?? No way....that bulls proportions make it pretty tough to judge....

5 obviously don't score well but who cares....I'll take that 5 over my pretty 346 bull any day

I have no 300 inch Rosie's to add  :'(

Don't feel bad, a lot of hunters think those measurements are included in the score. ;)

I'm not following you.  Are you being serious or messing with me? The score sheet is right there.

I do see that the spread credit can't equal greater than the longest main beam.

follow the boxes.  Only space to add in spread down below is spread credit which is the greatest point between the inside of the main beams but cannot exceed the longest main beam.  Also, if you print the score sheet off their Web page it prints two sheets.  One is the score sheet itself and the second is a detailed list of instructions.  Those other spread measurements are for infomation only.  Record keeping so to speak.  It's a common mistake that many make when scoring.
It is foolish and wrong to mourn these men.  Rather, we should thank god that such men lived.  -General George S. Patton
