Panel antler mount

Thought I'd try my hand at some antler mounts, kinda like the look of the finished product.

Very nice!  What did you use to form the leather over?

Very nice work.  I have done a couple, and those look a heck of a lot better than mine.  Good Job!

Very nice job. I also started with using plaster, then switched to expandable foam, easy to sand to what you want. I also use it under hair on hide antler mounts.

nice job..I use plaster paris on mine and then stretch the leather tacking it to the back then screw it to a panel. Braid strips or leather to go around the base of the horns.

Had good luck with Great Stuff brand standard formula for gaps and cracks, tried the specialty formula windows and doors to soft. My mounts aren't as large as yours so your idea of using the ridge foam for the larger area might be best, then use expandable to fill in the holes. I do like your panel,
nobody sees mine so I just use scrap wood. Have you tried mounting with hair on? I have some that I mounted 50 years ago with a home pickling solution that still look great.
