Idaho Deer,Elk, Pronghorn

That time of year to start applying!  Let the anticipation begin!  I seem to have heard before that your second choice doesn't matter, can someone please explain?

Idaho only pulls from the 2nd choice pull if there aren't enough 1st choice applicants to fill all allotted tags. So basically every hunt that is even marginal gets drawn out with 1st choice applicants.

Unless you want some of the very few undersubscribed tags or some of the unlimited tags that don't have the first choice only exception then a 2nd choice is pointless.

I'm in already for deer, elk and antelope

I'm in for Elk and Deer, but looking at the draw odds for Non residents, I think I just made a benevolent donation to IDFG.  I decided to just put in for the toughest units to draw, because statistically the difference between a 1% chance and a .45% chance is such a crap-shoot that it doesn't matter.
I guess if the Baby Jesus doesn't want me to hunt the general season he's gonna have to pull some serious strings for me anyway, so I just put in for Unit 45... :dunno:

It happens some of the draw odds for non residents are better then draw odds here in our home state. I drew a very good bull tag last year in Idaho. So I am in for just lope and deer.

In for elk, debating on deer and antelope though. Batting around the idea of putting in for a late mule deer in central part of the state. Antelope would overlap with my OTC elk tag when I don't draw, so... Going elk hunting for sure though, just a matter of when and what with.

I'm in for all 3.  I put in for some easier to draw tags since I haven't drawn any tags yet this year.  Fingers are crossed.

I almost sat out for the first year since 1999, but I applied for only the best tags instead

Whats up with the new fee this year?  Access fee I think they called it.

They added a depredation fee instead of increasing license fee.

The peer pressure got to me, in for 3. Chasing deer in the mountains in the middle of November has always sounded like a bad idea, guess it's time to try and draw it while I can still blame my stupidity on my age.

:yeah: and I'm just sick of WA. I'm in for all 3 in ID, but probably only have a realistic chance of drawing a deer tag since I put in for primo elk and antelope tags.
