Rivers Edge climbing sticks/rails

Anybody have any experience with these. By the time I put my size 14's in a cold weather boot, they take up some real estate. These look wide enough for me but I'm a little hesitant about the leverage on the welds that hold the straps. Any thoughts, the narrower profiles just don't work with the width of my boot.
