My uncle got bit by a small baby rattles in EWa. Could have been a game ender and he was sick for quite a while.

In archery we have something like the way of the superior man. When the archer misses the center of the target, he turns round and seeks for the cause of his failure in himself.

Rubber Boa
As long as we have the habitat, we can argue forever about who gets to kill what and when.  No habitat = no game.

Took my grand daughters pet ‘Wolfie’ for a hike one day. He chased this critter out of my path. Granddaughter gets a kick out of where I take Wolfie.

Some from my stint in Alabama - copperhead (I'm pretty sure it was hunting some abandoned kittens I found on a red dirt road), timber rattlesnake, and water moccasin/cottonmouth. Lots of close - too close - encounters down there. Wish I had photos of when we were doing research in swamps and catching cottonmouths in waist-deep water at night!  :yike:

Rubber Boa
:chuckle: :chuckle: those are so cute.

The bull snakes in spring have always been extra bratty and will bite even if they are not devistating you can get a gross infection.

Northern Pacific rattlesnake, and western terrestrial garter snake (I think). Klickitat County.

Funny, you guys see snakes and grab a camera and make some good photos. I grab a shovel and make 2 snakes... sometimes 3,4,5 out of one.

I used to kill 'em whenever I came across them. Don't get any pleasure out of it anymore. I've developed quite an appreciation for them, and I think they're downright beautiful. I'd rather have lots of snakes than lots of mice.

I kind of want to venture to the east side and search for them a bit. Wife wants a rattle off of one and I want to try eating one!
