Maiden Terrova ipiot voyage
« on: February 09, 2018, 07:23:06 AM »
Went to the lake just to get acquainted with the terrova. Extremely easy to pair and calibrate motor and heading sensor. Cruise control and paralleling the bank was impressive as well as spot lock. With a little more time the terrova is going to make one heck of a partner

Spot Lock for deep water jigging is the bomb! But once you record some tracks, or set that auto pilot, it's really easy to doze off!

If you also have a kicker motor and you want to troll faster, use the kicker for the extra speed and steer with the Terrova. The control you have steering with the bow mount is amazing.

I've always wondered how something like this might work for lingcod fishing to help counteract the wind when it is opposed to the current.  Probably too complicated with changing currents and gusty winds though.

Would love to hear from someone who’s done this. On my boat I always end up stuck behind the wheel holding in place rather than fishing for lingcod.

I'm sure you all are aware, but I will say anyways. If you use a motor designed for freshwater in saltwater it will immediately void your warranty.  Yes the Terraova, ROCKS!!!

Yeah I don't have a kicker but if I did. That's what I would do to troll faster speeds and save battery power.

lots of youtube videos with heavy winds and current. Works great you'll just have to get the 36 volt 112 salt water version.  :twocents:

I have used it bass fishing near the bank with high wind and current works great. The spot lock is fantastic for tying up rods or anything that takes your focus away from say the wind blowing you into rocks. The only reason I don't have one on my boat is because it turns to slowly for me. When you get into a tight spot and need precise turning quickly it's just not there.
