Scouting old faithful elk drainage
« on: July 25, 2018, 07:08:51 AM »
Went up last weekend for an overnight horse ride. Love going and being up there, saw 2 small bulls and 3 different times saw groups of cows. Not one calf with them. Kind of concerns me when I hiked a 7 mile trek (which is basically my hunt) and checked my cameras. I have never seen so much bear sign in there the last 2 years. I really feel our management should consider spring bear more throughout the state as Idaho. The predators are definitely in abundance

Get back in there in a week and kill a couple of them! Or one in 3ish weeks if it's on the east side. Doing predator management in the areas you hunt ungulates in is more effective than waiting for the state to  implement new management policies state wide.

I agree so let's have an early and late hunt. They could charge more that their objective anyway to get more money
