This weekend for youth.
Senior starts next Monday.
Gathering is easy. Hunting is a challenge.

1st time I will not be able to hit the youth season in 8 years.  My kid is too old, and the nephews are in love with stick and ball sports.  I brought this up to my wife last weekend that I am going to miss the best weekend of the year.  Hope all the kids limit out and the adults and dogs have fun.

Hell I might sit with the dog and prostitute my services out. :chuckle:

I'm helping out at the local Pheasants Forever event in the Gloyd Seeps.  I "volunteered" to be the photographer so I could accompany the kids.  Monday I'm out on my own.

I'm taking my daughter out. The NW chapter of Washington Waterfowl Association lined up blind for the youth at a couple of the private gun clubs.

I'll probably be trying the Old Geezer Hunt on the 24th; as I am now 65. I'll stumble around for a couple of hours with my GSP puppy...Nothing serious as the puppy is young and I'm "Old & Slow".

I wish there was a release site here in Skagit County. Contrary to some folks grumbling I enjoyed the Bow Hill site.

I think I’m taking my neighbor and his daughter out for the youth hunt here in Eastern WA on Saturday. I have a pretty good public spot that holds wild pheasant and quail. It gets hammered on opening day every year. What kind of crowds should I expect for the youth hunt? Tying to decide if we need to show up super early to get our field 😬

Tomorrow morning is going to be one of the best days of my life as a father. Passing the shotgun to my son and seeing him transition from the little kid that carries the birds, to a real hunter will be awesome.

Hope everyone has a safe and fun day tomorrow!

Cheers!

Looks like tomorrow will be my first day out on the senior hunt.  I'm scheduled to "work" today.
