Everyone's eyes are different, I went to sportco and looked threw both models. My eyes for some reason liked the slc's better, I'm sure they have the exact same glass, but each pair is different.  I ended up buying a used pair of 10x42 slc's and love them.  I'd go look threw both and go with what your eyes see.

Agreed, I also went with a pair of SLC’s. Both great, one was just a little better for my eyes.

I can get some pretty good pricing on them from a place in Montana so no sales tax.  Let me know if you want me to check it out.  I picked up a pair of 15x56 SLC for 2k TYD.

Everyone has that.  Some companies list them as Demo’s and other ways to get around it. I get them from a dealer.

Never looked through EL's so I can't speak for those, but I have had a pair of 10x42 SLC's for about 10 years now and love them.  I don't think you can really go wrong with the SLC's plus a little cheaper too.

The ELs have greater eye relief, slighty different color rendition, and a flat field of view edge to edge. If none of those matter the SLCs are less expensive.

Were some demo EL 10x42s for $2029 recently. Looked new to me.

I currently own Zeiss, Leica and Swarovskis and my money is currently on Swarovski.

The 8x42 EL range on a tripod are the best glass I have ever looked through. I also own 15x60 Zeiss and bought 15x56 SLC’s seven years ago and made the mistake of looking through newer 15x56 SLC’s three years ago and had to sell and buy the newer ones. Crazy clear, but still not as good as the EL’s.

Exactly! I hunted with phool a lot and I would grab his bino’s at low light just so I could count points  ... He cost me a pair of El’s too! I sold them a couple years back in favor of Rangefinders cause I got tired of carrying two different pieces of equipment... I’d never go back to not having rangefinder bino’s again except for 15x56’s on a tripod
