Cracked Tooth -- Glue it?
« on: September 23, 2020, 01:35:39 PM »
I have a euro bear skull, and one of the large canines is cracking.  The interwebs seems to say that the best thing to do is take some glue that dries white and basically plug the crack.  Is this what other folks have done? Or is there a better way?  Also, I used polyurethane on the skull itself to help preserve it, but should I do something to the teeth also to prevent any new cracks in the teeth?  Thanks in advance.

Get some dental glue at Walgreens for about $2. That should do it.

Those suckers crack, a dab of superglue will do the trick where you can’t tell it ever cracked.

All mine did it for a number of years, but I had good luck with a satin clear coat on my last few. I never really spent enough time previously n just accepted it as a matter of course. After seeing some of the professional mounts from companies like Dakota I realized with proper prep they will stay nice a long time.

Please let us know how you end up repairing it with some pictures of the end result.

Will do.  But that leads to another question, which is why I can't post pictures in my messages.  Every time I try to post with a picture or video, it will let me select the file, but then when I hit "Post" I just get a blank screen that never changes.  Odd...

Because the pics are too big. Open them in Paint or any photo editor and resize to 30%. That should do it.
