I would agree with Caseknife. I raised goats for many years and butchered many of them. The meat seemed similar to deer meat. Very tough too! I finally got away from them (mostly because they were too noisy and I got tired of listening to them). I ended up replacing them with hair sheep. I'm never going back to goat. I prefer lamb. I know a lot of folks don't care for lamb but I prefer it over goat meat. |

I'd try a meat goat breed like boer, a properly finished wether, before I'd write off all goats as the same tough stringy meat. You eat a dairy goat you'll be disappointed, might as well eat a holstein cow and say it wasn't as good as a prime angus steer. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk |
