What's even scarier is how much of a disadvantage we are in OR vs WA. The best thing about E OR vs E WA is we don't have Tri Cities, Spokane, Yakima, etc... the worst thing is we have no population base. I think this ID/OR/WA deal will gain more traction than people think, especially in OR. I've been a skeptic for a long time (love the idea, worry about the process), but I'm starting to come around.

Even OR isn't stupid enough to make raising livestock for meat illegal. And, re-drawing state lines would need to be part of a Convention of States, I believe. I'm unsure that Congress has the power to do that, even if they wanted to. And they don't want to.

Or is moving boundary lines different than creating a whole new state?
I agree, it seems too big a hurdle. At minimum it's a great discussion. But I'm telling you, it's getting momentum. Will it happen? Doubt it, but it's gonna make some people come to the table. The division in this state is 5x as bad as WA.
Just because stupid people create ballot initiatives doesn't mean it'll pass. There is zero chance this initiative would pass in Oregon.
