Long Beach Razors
« on: October 12, 2021, 08:17:53 AM »
Anyone know how the clamming is on Long Beach of late?  I normally go to the northern beaches but figured I might try somewhere new.  I see Long Beach open pretty much every day when there is a dig.  Not sure if that means clamming is good or its bad and WDFW doesn't care if you want to waste your time every day...?

Thanks.

The clamming is very good right now. I went last Friday on a -1.1 tide. We were out there 2 hours before low tide. Had our 60 clams in an hour. All reports from friends and others have got their limits quick.

I’d say most of our clams were medium/small. We wanted to get it done early in the light. As the tide got further out the size of clams became larger too.

You shouldnt have a problem!

Thanks Wolfdog - any tips on where I can pull in a small, capable camper and be away from peeps?  Chasing elk a skip to the east I remember it being locked up pretty tight. Not looking for a campground or RV park.  I'll have my bird dogs with me and they like to stretch their legs.  Just looking for a quiet road in a wooded area really.  Feel free to PM if more appropriate.

Thanks again.

Can confirm, Long Beach is loaded with Razors. We were out their during this last one and hit our limit in an hour and a half. Be prepared for lots of people at the access road.

Sorry I’m not too familiar with any primitive type camping areas near there! Maybe someone else will! Good luck!

Western lakes for camping.  Its a little drive to long Beach but not bad.  It has a nice trail around the lake.
