I can tell you from my experience in unit 1 in Idaho..when the wolves move in, the white tail get pretty scarce. Very very tough to hunt even during the rut.

We ran into a pack off Alladin Road in the 111.  We saw one wolf at about 40 yards and had another 3-4 howling all around us.  We came back the next afternoon and were into deer maybe 1/4 mile away from where we ran into the wolf and were hearing the others.

Some of my buddies in 101 are covered up by wolves. They found 2 kills last week but they are still seeing good bucks on camera.

Tried to get back into the area yesterday with the family to get our tree and check it out. Was quite a bit of snow from storms early in the week and with the warm weather the roads were a mess. Even with chains it was really tough going. So played it safe and turned around. So nothing new to report.

Looks like warm weather is here for few days, hoping I'll be able to get back into my area this weekend. Otherwise just have to hang lower.

How high up are you hunting, seems like most snow to 4-5000 feet is gone, maybe in the shade on a North slope you might find some snow.

Around 3000 elevation. The snow reduced a lot from Friday to Sunday but there is still quite a bit. The road was that super dense slush that you have to plow through. with wife and kids didn't want to risk getting stuck so turned around. Plus I don't think they would have been too excited about hiking around in that wet snow anyways.

I'll try again... Hopefully it cools off and can get a little fresh snow later this week.
