I can tap him after I shot him and he's lying on the ground

Lady, tell the rest of the story!

There are a lot more quirky close encounters with wild animals than many people realize, especially if the hunter gets into the thick brush with the critters.  If I told some of mine here, I’d be called a liar, as I discovered soon after I joined here, when I told of some bear encounters.

I’ve been within touching distance of two deer while hunting, one a mule deer doe and one a blacktail spike.  Then there was the young bull moose I was chasing and didn’t realize that he had stopped one step into a wall of brush...

I read a paperback years ago, I think the author's name is Tom Brown but not positive. He wrote about him and a friend when they were kids and would sneak up on critters and give 'em a slap. He ended up being a tracker for law enforcement and tracking the bad guys down when they would head for the tall timber. Can't remember the name of the book but it was a good read.

Those deer look a tad big for Orcas. This is my buddy's trophy ML deer from up there last year, along with all of the meat we were able to get off of it.

Not that I'd ever flip him s*** for it...
