i grew up in MN where they have lots of em, you talk about MEAN, they will not back down from a human. they will also kill chickens like you cant believe. they look cool but have a real bad attitude

They are a good looking critter, for sure. I saw one about three-four years ago in the Mt. Adams Wilderness. From a distance of 30-40 feet I got to study it for about 15 seconds before it was spooked away. The WDFW man I talked to didn't believe me and I hadn't had my camera handly so as to record it. Now that it has come to light that there were re-introduction plans underway, I can understand why the man I talked to insisted I was mistaken. Had I captured an image it probably would have screwed up their funding for planting them.

All this focus on wolves, I'd rather see fisher and Wolverines being re-introduced.  Way less impact on everyone.  Might have a few bird farmers scared to death but......

Personally I think we need a grizzly population in the alpine lakes area ....make it a little more of an adventure for hikers

I'd have to agree.   I really didn't have an issue withthem dumping them in the Pasayten.  I didn't like the coverup and I can see why the outfitters were raising holy hell.  I was thinking...coooool more photo ops.

Hell lets just make washington a predator paradise....I bet we can get a ton of bears from alaska

Apparantly its already happened.  Didn't you see the thread where there was a bear with a 9 inch wide track.   Sounds like either a coastal brown or one of them big whitebears.   

THe Fisher is extremely cool though!
