I should clarify, I own a standard grinder but am looking to upgrade and in doing some research have seen the dual grind options. Its basically a knife between a course plate and a fine plate.
I add beef suet to my burger and pork to my sausage. I grind once mix a bit by hand after then grind fine for my second and final mix. I guess if you aren't adding anything extra then the dual grind might save you a few minutes. I stick with single abs switching plates.

I used an LEM "dual grind" recently and wasn't impressed. I tend to trim as little as possible as long as I can get it down the tube Im usually good to go. This machine bogged down and shut off several times on chunks of meat that I feal like should not have given it trouble. Another thing to consider is some dual grinds won't attach to meat mixers if that matters to you.
