Nice Billy! I'd be happy with him, even looks like the hair length is pretty darn good! That sucks that the weather was fighting you, guess that's the risk you have to take. It may not be the goat you were after but he is VERY nice and the rest of us are all jealous!!! Good job.

10" Billy are hard to come by.  Genentics are huge with goats, just like deer.  I've got a 8" 9.5 yr old billy on the book shelf.

He's a dandy and an inch here or there don't mean a thing.  Now below the belt line maybe....but on a goat horn, not.

Welcome to the fraternity.

Great story and photo's.
That Billy looks huge, I like the photo of you holding him.
It will make a great mount with all that hair.
Way to go...

Great Pics and super write up.  Love it when a thread turns into an "article"...

That's awesome!  I would've made the decision.  Better to come home with a nice goat than come home empty handed, especially with that weather forecast!  Now I just need to do some saving!

Just found this thread again....

Nice Billy Actionshooter, I'd have made the same decision you did, knowing how fast weather can make or break a hunt.  Congrats, I'm green with envy!

I also thought the hair looked good for this early in the season.  Must be that north country.  Now only if I was up there dryfly fishing for steelies.

Damn Actionshooter the story is better here than you tell it in person. Well Done! Definitely not an easy hunt which makes it that much more successful.

Congrats on a awesome Goat.  Beautiful hair and great mass to the horns.  I hope to find one like that someday.
I didn't say it was your fault, I said I was blaming you.
If I ageed with you, then we'd both be wrong.
You are never to old to learn something stupid.
