Mapping Cards

I have a LCX37c and was wondering what and if anyone has experience with lake/river/ocean mapping programs.  I am mainly interested in lakes and rivers in Washington and Idaho, but am hoping to try the coast out next year.  Any input from those who have the programs or data cards would be appreciated.
