No controlled hunt section for my roommate. . . I guess if there isn't a controlled hunt section you just didn't draw?

If you are down in that area, I might have to take you up on that!   My little brother goes on all my big trips and he is pretty excited that I drew - we have always wanted to hunt the famed unit.   Although, when a buck goes down, he is more of a "grab a beer" than "grab one side of the antlers and drag."   :chuckle:

Congrats on the Unit 45 draw.  That's the holy grail man!  I've got a buddy that lives in Bosie who claims the hardest thing about hunting 45 is passing up all the 24"-26" bucks
...what a friggin problem to have...!

Thanks for the offer, I will send you a PM.  My hunting buddies have combined for several 45 tags and a bunch of nice bucks - smallest is 184", biggest 195".  The pressure will be on!

The big deer are falling in the early 45 muzzy season.  We are 4 days through and I know of a two 36" bucks hitting the ground.  One 36", 221" buck and another 36" 266" buck.   These are local deer - can't wait to see what the migration brings at the end of the month!   Needless to say, I am getting excited to get down  there!

Thanks for the offer.   Are they the ranchers who got approved this year for the allocated tags?  10K for rifle and 7K for Muzzy?  I got a good local "guide" who knows the unit as good as anyone.   He says this could be the best year in 45 since '97 when Arledge shot the 294.  He shot a 196" net typical with a muzzy that year.   I am pretty tuned up - don't know how I will make it these next two and a half weeks.  They are also getting some weather right now which will push those big boys out of 44 and may trigger the rut for the last week.   I'm not gonna make it............
