Chains on gmc 2500hd
« on: Today at 07:06:30 AM »
Wondering if anyone has any knowledge of what it takes to be able to use chains on my 2023 gmc 2500hd?  Planning on a small lift and new tires this year but would love to be able to use chains. Currently the manufacturer says no chains. Must have been designed by some guy in a suit!

I've never seen a pickup be unsuitable for chains.  Hmmmm.

A lot of new ones are this way.  My 18 ram could only have them on the rear.  My 21 ram 3500 can have them all the way around.  My sons 13 Tacoma is rear only.  You have to really check when buying these days.

I would think wheel spacers is the only way.  Then your tires will stick out a bit further

I think you should check, maybe with a used set at some point.

My old 2010 Duramax really shouldn't have chains on the front, but I can use cable chains if I don't turn too hard.  I can actually use V-bar chains, but then I really can't turn hard.  Rears I can run whatever.  Generally the rear is going to be more forgiving.

No actual idea you your specific year.

OP didn't specify 4WD, so I assume 2WD.
