Upcoming April WDFW Commission Meeting
📅 When: Friday, April 17th at 8:00 AM
📅 Alternate Day: Saturday, April 18th at 8:30 AM
📍 Where: Olympia, Natural Resources Building

This is the commission meeting you don’t want to miss. After years of spring bear restrictions, fights to protect predator hunting, and troubling commission decisions, your voice is needed now more than ever. If you can only attend one meeting this year, make it this one.

The investigation into Commissioners Melanie Rowland, Barbara Baker, Lorna Smith, and John Lehmkuhl has revealed serious allegations, including close ties to anti-hunting groups, repeated votes to decrease hunting opportunities, ethics concerns, disruption of meetings, and alleged deletion of public records. Public trust has been damaged, and the time to stand together is now.

We’ll be sharing more exposes, speaking tips, and updates as the investigation concludes on April 6th. Mark your calendars, bring your friends, and let’s show up peacefully and respectfully to protect our hunting heritage.

Stand beside your fellow sportsmen. Make your voice heard. Demand accountability.

They plan these meetings in advance, no way they can see the future. But I have voiced my issues with meetings constantly being on opening weekends, or huge agenda items, coincidentally being on the start date. There talking about classifying coyotes on Thursday during committee meetings. The goal of that is to create seasons and regulations for them. Policy wise, this isn’t that big of a meeting so far. This is really just about the investigation into the 4 and getting people to show up and make their voice heard. Really hope sportsmen and women show up to this one. Hoping to pull off a massive showing.

They have been after coyote hunting for years.
Another anti-hunting agenda.
Anything to hurt ungulates ,strip opportunity from sportsman/sportwoman .
Just never ends with these people.
The let's fix something that isn't broken is getting old quick.

Copy,

Turkey season always starts on 15 April and has forever. Not much "seeing in the future" involved with that! It is intentional.

Under the there's no problems, only solutions theory:

Plan A. Get over to the east side early as usual, kill two birds on the 15th. Don't do any fishing. Haul back to the Westside and attend the meeting

Plan B. Don't go for the opener. Attend. Then Sunday 19th, go over to the eastside, kill two birds AND do some fishing.

My questions are: Is there going to be some kind of pro hunting rally?

Should we show up proudly and unashamed, rocking hunter Orange, camouflage, and some fur? Or just walk around in plaid shirts and jeans and just grumble a lot?

Show up unashamed and proud of your heritage! You’re gonna be seeing a lot more over the next couple weeks with new exposes, information about the meeting, and everything else.

Not yet, but through the year at a glance we have a good idea. As for what times public comment is and when, its always been the same. The big day ya wanna be there is Friday morning at 8am. Get your buddies down their, get down early to get good seats and stay respectful and peaceful. If you can't make it Friday, Saturday is an option. I'll be there Friday, maybe Saturday as well.

This seems like a good post to remind most (I hesitated to say all) of us how we identify  :)

I identify as a hunter.  I was born this way.  There are feelings deep inside of me that drive me to hunt, fish and spend time outdoors. It is not something I choose nor can I control those feelings. I am also a minority.  Only 6% of US citizens are within this minority group.

Every minority group in the U.S. has protections to ensure that they are not discriminated against.  Yet, the minority group I belong to continues to be discriminated against, have lawful opportunities taken away from us by ballot measures, rogue and unlawful wildlife commissions and liberal activists that continue to try and force everyone to feel the same as they do.  I want my rights/activities, and my minority group, to be guarded against as strongly as if our minority group was African American, Hispanic, homosexual, transgender and women, just to name a few.

Best of luck for a good showing at the meetings.
